especially because, by all accounts, Elko is a good defensive coach and should have good judgement on that side of the ball. I just hope our coaches changes thus far are a net GAIN.
to be fair, I am pretty sure nearly every person on this thread, at some point in their careers who has left one job for another…did not tell their current employer they interviewed for another job until they had a job offer in hand. (because if you don’t get the job you are often screwed by your current employer since you were shopping around. Napier already fired 2 co-workers on defense- could be Batemen wanted to be careful in case he was next) Not much different here. Difference is it sounds like the new employer announced the hire before Batemen announced/told Billy or his players.
I and the posters who followed this reply brought facts, you brought and continue to bring speculation. That is your choice, just don't get upset when those of us watching choose the facts over your speculation.
You nor I know facts, though we can both claim too based on 3rd party comments. Perhaps you are correct that Bateman did this in one morning. Perhaps I am right that multimillion dollar contacts do not get done in 2 hours and EG made a valid inside comment based on his experience (more than any “fact” you expressed). The main point I made is that regardless of how this happened, BN and staff should have immediately reached out to players and recruits. That is trust and culture. Your speculation that this was sprung on BN does not obviate the truth that a gator great and his top recruit son felt ignored. So lay off the false sense of some absolute “truth” and deal with the world that exists.
