I don't know if he will be here next year but what I do know is I wouldn't put a lot of faith in anything that comes from Bullis.
Most fans set their sights a little higher than that. Evidently you are satisfied with just making the tournament most seasons and that’s okay if that’s what floats your boat. I think you are in the minority of basketball fans. I think there are more of us that expect more than what we are seeing from White.
I think his replacement is going to be a tough one for us. I have no idea who I would go after at this point. I do know I would want someone who would insist on flipping the cameras though. Oh, and someone who would be willing to hire an offensively capable assistant if they don’t have that skill.
I had a smiley face not sure why it did not show. My point we get to the dance so what is considered good. Elite 8 at worse, final 4 every 3-4 years. Win the SEC once every 4 years. What would a new coach need to do?
Keep his recruits at Florida and develop them. Have an offense that’s not embarrassing to watch. That’s for starters.
Not many teams keep their players now. So again you say JJ was not developed I think he was. No where in the shape he was in would have been in the rotation first couple years. Dujuli has gotten better, C C sure has I know the Michigan coach did that right. Mann got better at handling the ball and playing D seemed to do ok in draft. Reeves had improved his D and that's why he is playing. Payne is still not any better overall. I know Whites fault. Glover looks good I agree. To me it's been recruiting more than coaching. Both 5 stars he got went to NBA after 1 year can't do better than that. Reeves will be drafted as will Dujuli and JJ has. Chance with 25 less pounds and work on a 10 foot shoot. Gatkek (sp) looks better than your AA Payne. Still will back who ever is coach.
Well one things for sure. We won't borderline root against this team or stop watching like some folks do.
Just like football, finding a good coach comes down to one thing: COMMITMENT from the school. If UF will show it is committed to basketball like it just did for football, we can get a great coach. If that commitment isn't there, we likely will have to roll the dice.
As Joni Mitchell sings: You just don't know what you got till its gone. If you can't get behind this gator team and enjoy the hoops you need to see a doctor.
This would make sense if the team was well coached. It is not. It is frustration to watch bad fundamentals and bad offense year after year. I appreciate the players played hard and that we are extremely short-handed right now combined with having to do 4 games in 7 days. At least it (along with some hot shooting) had us “in” the game after the no-show @Ole Miss. But alas, a few horrible possessions and hilariously bad shots late did us in.
We could be 2 and 14 and I would still watch Gator Basketball. Can't speak for anyone else but I "bond" with the kids and root for them no matter what. This team is "close" but is missing a couple of key components, guard play being the most critical component. (IMO) Tyree is a bit hard to watch, he is either making spectacular plays or...............NOT. I am hoping CC comes back, it seems to me the only hope to turn this thing around is for him to come back, play Jit ALOT now that it has been confirmed he is actually pretty good, and hope that the new rotation, once CC comes back, will allow the team to be more competitive (shoot better). Wishful thinking probably but I got nothing else to grasp unto. The whole deal SUCKS frankly because I would like to see CMW make me EAT my words and turn this program around. I DON'T want to see him get run off but it's hard to argue with those that are basically just looking at the hard facts and the hard facts are that coach's performance, after 7 years, suggests marginal success.
White is so likeable and that makes this much harder than say a Muschamp or Mac situation. Most of is that are in his camp just like how he seems as a human being enough to be more patient than in other cases.
