Missed pop up almost was disastrous. That should have been the 1B ball all day. Always tough for catcher with guy and mitt.

these players are adding years to Sully,

    Sully post game interview:
    • Wanted Neely to go deeper but
    • thought Liam Peterson was outstanding
    • thought Clemente was outstanding
    • Struck out 29 and only 8 BBs today
    • Errorless baseball today
    • The ABs with 2 strikes were better with several hard hit balls

    Great win!!
Glad to see the boys making more contact. Kurland looked good as did Donay at the plate.

Need Cags and Coppola in relief to deliver a big win tomorrow.

For a catcher playing first, Heyman does reasonably well, but Jac is the best defensive player on the team. Tn's Burke made a good play near the same spot and his full time experience at 1B may have been the difference between his catch and Luke's not being there. FWIW If Luke should shift there full time after the season ends, he might be very good.

Don’t think anybody imagined they would ever see Brody Donay with a .300 batting average. Incredible transformation in his approach at the plate. He has been really really good when we have needed him the most.

Between the two games yesterday Cags, Donay, and Kurland had 12 out of our 16 hits. On one hand, awesome job by those guys. But on the other hand, we need other guys to produce!

Last night was a really good baseball game between two really good teams. The home plate blue was pretty inconsistent but I don't think it factored into the outcome. Both teams had to fight some adversity. That's baseball. I love games that go down to the last pitch. You win some and you lose some but you get to see baseball at a high level. Football might be a game of inches but baseball is a game of millimeters.

Isn’t it a requirement to post “The home plate blue was pretty inconsistent” for any game when Jeff Head is the home plate umpire?
