Neely not as sharp tonight. He's battling, but no pitcher can have their A game every time out.

 

We need more diversity in the lineup. We have Cags who is all around. Robertson who hits the ball. Thomas sort of hits the ball. Then everyone else is literally boom or bust swing out of your shoes.

Something is seriously wrong if we have multiple men on third and less than 2 out and we consistently cannot score. That tells me the approach is awful. Its HR or bust

 

He was bound to come back down to earth at some point.

 

Neely did his part. Need the offense to step up.

 

I say he is the best we got and he is still dealing.

 

Worst part is we are not even putting the ball in play in those situations

 

Well, we barely made the NCAA tournamnet with a 29-28 record and yet are in the Final 4 for the national title. In spite of all our deficiencies, this team has done extremely well, IMO.

 

Has there ever been a pitcher who throws a stink ball? I knows it would take some ingenuity.

 

Guess we shouldt have had steak.

 

Thomas has had good at bats all night with nothing to show for it.

 

It’s ok to have one boom or bust type guy. But we have like 5-6

Donay makes sense bc he has legit power

Wilson, Shelnut, Kurland and Heyman do not have the power to justify all the Ks

 

Used to tell my little leaguers when they started with too heavy swings for the fence, “If you see the ball hit the bat then the bat will hit the ball and put it in play”. Usually got them to pay attention to the pitch instead of the fence. We just need to get more balls in play with men on base.

 

No discipline. Too many swings at balls out of the strike zone.

 

I’m too optimistic. We swing at everything.

 

It’s analytics. I think it calls for swinging away and it looks ugly when it doesn’t work.
