Am I the only one thinking that 11pm to start a baseball game in the college World Series is absolutely unacceptable.
I feel like it would have been better to play the game 1st thing today at 11am, just my opinion. Lol

It was a 10:00 start. I preferred getting the game done last night.

    Good teams seem to adapt.

That would have put both Florida and Texas A&M at a significant disadvantage for their games on Monday

I mean we were two feet from taking the lead in the ninth. It’s not like TAMU looked like an MLB team against us. If the zone is inconsistent, it is hard to adapt.

Sometimes umps will consistently call low balls strikes, or will call slightly off the plate strikes so not swinging at low balls is not adapting or laying off slightly outside pitches is not adapting. However you are correct if the ump is totally inconsistent there is no adapting at all.

Got some key production from the bottom of the lineup. Multi hit performers yesterday:

    Cags
    Thomas
    Robertson

    Unfortunately our 1, 3, & 4 hitters were a combined 0-12.

Hope Ashton settles in. Shelton and Cade have been fire and ice all year. Cade almost came through for us yesterday, but almost doesn’t count.

I would love to see Texas A&M take some action against them.

I just watched the game. Pitching was very good - plenty good enough to win the game. Their hitters were much more disciplined at the plate than our guys. We swing at so many balls out of the zone. Wilson, Shelton & Donay looked especially overmatched at the plate. 16 K's, 1-11 with RISP, 10 LOB just won't cut it. Just couldn't get the clutch hits.

    Not to Cortez

He only threw maybe 5 pitches in the zone

Yes he has nasty stuff. That’s why you make him throw strikes.

Taking a strike has the same result as swinging at a pitch 2 feet out of the zone

Knowing A&M they will build them statues.

Now that we have the real Texas team in the conference can we jettison these cowpokes?

You missed that Texas A&M struck out 10 times themselves (in only eight innings). The Aggies were also out-hit by UF and were only able to get two hits over the last 5-plus innings. Not sure why you are pointing out the A&M nine hole getting a hit and a RBI but our nine hole hitter actually had two hits and a RBI.

UF dominated the last five innings but just couldn’t get enough clutch hits. Tight game between two evenly matched teams and we fell just short. Such is life in Omaha.
