Actually it only went up .57 from 9.00 to 9.57. Its all about your perspective to begin with. But no 2 runs didn't kill Purnell's ERA only enhanced it.

That's exactly what Sully needs out of the pen late is someone that will shut down any rally.

Well that's the negative perspective. .
2 inn with no earned runs would have significantly reduced his ERA. Purnell didn't pitch great but today's stats are misleading. Has happened to him a couple of times now. Life as a reliever I guess.

 

Love that Clete goes straight at them. Nesbitt did the same the other night. Rudner on other site talks about his spin rate on slider. I’m not worried about messing with slider when he sits 93-94 w little bit of movement. ( I actually think it is rise).

 

He will be fine. The days of him taking innings from Nesbitt and Hertzog have to be done though. Too much other talent in pen.

 

Robertson has been getting too many fly outs for his own good. I'd rather he try to beat out a few on the ground even on a windy day.
