Baseball vs MS State, Fri 3/29, 6:30 pm

As satisfying as it is, I can think of several ways to do it that are easier on the old ticker. Lol

Really liked what I saw out of Fisher and McNeille tonight!

 

I’ll take it! Feels nice to get a comeback win, let alone on Friday! Go Gators!!

 

And some wanted to bench Kurland

Major props to the bullpen. McNeillie will get all the love and he was stellar but Purnell had a shutdown inning and Fisher only gave up 1 run in his 3 inn.

game threads in every sport can be hard to follow…so much negativity. I am not Mr sunshine in the slightest but man, seems the expectation is every player in every situation on every pitch (whether pitcher or hitter) with every defensive play and every coaching decision must be perfect. I didn’t read the thread until the game was almost complete so went from start to finish all in a row in 10 minutes - you’d think UF baseball coaches and players didn’t know how to play or coach baseball or were just learning the sport based on the game thread. And we won! lol

I hate to lose so coming back and winning was awesome.

 

Just got home and enjoying a victory margarita. Tastes wonderful.

We gave up a lot of singles but only one was hit really hard.

Home plate blue's strike zone was variable for both teams.

Looked up the box score and it has Neely with five earned runs. One of the runs he gave up reached base on Thomas's throwing error so shouldn't it be five runs/four earned?

 

The guy that reached on an error got erased by a double play on the next batter. Then another guy reached on a walk, stole second, and scored
Twice tonight they had a guy reach first, steal second, and score on a 2 out single. I thought the one in the 7th would end up beating us

 

That makes sense.

I sat near some MSU fans. After the game I tapped the shoulder of one of them and just said "That's baseball". No gloating. We both agreed it was a great game.

 

Love seeing a game where our boys pick each other up when we need it most. Fun crowd, nice to see so many stick around even when the going gets rough. I think we had like 3 hits going into the bottom of the 8th. Keep fighting till the last out.

They held it down for sure. I think the Neely thing will be fine once he’s stretched out and used to it again. Was solid first 40- 50 pitches. Stuff looked good. I like this much better with Fisher in pen. We don’t have tons of leftys. Adding another to the pen and on some weekends him pitching twice is huge.
