If anything comes of the additional games and extra innings they played it would probably be that they get tired a little quicker than normal. They aren't going to fall apart, just the normal wearing down. That's when mistakes are made. We have to take advantage.

I’m unable to link it (please someone younger than old), but Creighton University’s Analytical Department’s evaluation of Robertson’s catch is amazing.

Impossible. The media and pundits have already labeled LSU as overwhelming favorites. All the talk is about them.

Florida is 16-11 all-time at CSF trailing only Vanderbilt (20) in the CWS record book.

Thank you, jkl. I like this. I don’t understand it, but I like it. What I don’t understand is how they diagram all those home runs to centerfield when it obviously was not a home run to centerfield. If the park holds it, fielders can make a play on it, no? I’m so confused. Still like it though.

These comments from 247 put into context just how good of a catch Robertson made on Wednesday.....
    "
The last out of the contest didn't disappoint either when TCU third baseman Brayden Taylor smacked a waist-high heater at 110 miles per hour at a 25 degree angle to straight-away center field off Florida closer Brandon Neely.

At the MLB level, balls hit that hard with the same launch angle have been home runs 97 percent of the time, according to analytics tracking system Baseball Savant. And even when they don't leave the yard, hits with the same criteria have a perfect 1.000 batting average. On Wednesday, though, it was a flyout to the wall caught by Florida defensive-replacement center fielder Michael Robertson, who crashed into the padded fence as he made the over the shoulder snag to put the game to bed."

Edit: I guess we had the same interest to share.

Thanks, Matherly. So, pretty much all major league parks are shorter to center than is Omaha?
