What I am referring to is “Developing players” vs “Number of wins by coach’s name”.

Why do you think Sully is able to year after year recruit top arms at UF? He takes care of his pitchers rather than abusing them. You have to use your maturity and experience in your decisions.

Every college pitcher in CWS is going to tell his coach if asked-“Damn straight I can go Coach, I want the ball”…..

As a real Coach, you’ve got to know how to weigh that information.

Sure you all know this but early today heard Hurd with Skenes only if LSU leading and needing a few outs. Not saying doesn’t come in in the 8th to preserve a tie and not saying doesn’t come in early, just what I heard.

 

I'm wondering if ESPN will update us before the game starts on the LSU team pitching ERA or runs allowed since they got to Omaha. They have been so dominate and the bullpen such a surprise and saying it over and over. My guess is Paul Skenes probably talked to Jay Johnson directly, and told him that he simply would not be able to be as efficient as he would need to be. If that is the case, can't blame the guy. He has a bright future ahead of him in MLB. He will make double digits millions just by signing his name on the dotted line after the draft before he ever suits up. He probably figured he did not want to run the risk of being a detriment to his team. I would not be surprised though, if he comes in for an inning or so. Look, those pitchers know when they "have it or not" on a certain day.
