Oh my, that last strike call was horrendous. Right now I'm not impressed by this dumb butt behind the plate.
Im trying not to have a "here we go again" attitude with these umpires, but if the plate is going to be 22 inches wide all night its going to make this kid look pretty good. I dont have a problem at all with the umpire giving +1 away or in. But it absolutely cant be both. This is probably a post for another thread, but if the NCAA is going to run this caliber of umpires out there for this big of a stage - they are absolutely going to have to fix instant replay. Go Gators and lets hope we get the same zone.
Yeah, strike 2 was debatable. Strike 3 was 3-4 inches off the plate. That is bull $*%%. And I will only comment on our hitting one time - JJ, India, Larson, etc haven't even showed up in Omaha. You can't bench India or JJ but there has to be a lefty out fielder who we could've started vs this righty, no? It's like every one we face is CY young come back from the grave. I'm not sure if we could hit pitches thrown by the one armed man in the fugitive. The real clue will, come when we get back to the top of the order and everyone has seen the pitcher already. Though maybe the bottom 3rd can do some damage as they've done before.
The only reason I can think that Kramer Robertson gets all this face time and hype is because of his hair. He's definitely nothing special as a baseball player. A .310 batting average as a college senior will get you about .240 as a major leaguer, and he doesn't hit for power. But man, his beautiful, flowing locks.
