Baseball vs KY, Sun 5/12, Noon

The announcers said that because Sunday was a travel day, no inning could start after 3:30 pm.

 

I thought that Cags improved a lot. Strike outs when batting went WAY down. And his pitching command improved greatly.

 

Jac's improvement at the plate was like night and day. Cut way down on K's, bumped his batting average way up - just an all around better approach at the plate. Ty Evans, also, made solid improvement at the plate as evidenced by his much better batting average. He still struck out a lot, though.

 

His HR:K ratio is barely above 1.5; he could use another season with us to help his draft status.

Obviously not the result we wanted, but the team kept battling. And our Mother’s Day experience on the berm was awesome. Yost robbed that home run right in front of us. It was a serious collision with the wall. And then Cags stayed afterwards to sign things for all the kids. He was the only one out there, and he stayed forever. My 11 yr old son made him laugh by saying “Even your bunts go over the fence.” Great ambassador for UF.

 

As for veterans improving I would add Fisher Jameson. Not lights out but he has become a major contributor late in the season. I wouldn't have predicted that.
