Its getting interesting

 

Just for clarity—Any leadoff walk in any inning was 5 poles. Any walk on 4 straight pitches (except called for from the dugout) was 5 poles. The other scenarios are previously mentioned.

The lesson was pitch don’t throw.

 

7-7 last 14 games.

 

Ump had a wide zone all game. Cant look at that pitch with 2 strikes.

 

Just don't have gamers.
Jacksonville is terrible this year.

So during the week games..we have lost to Stetson, UCF, fsu, and now JU...I don't like during the week games...frustrating

 

Looked like a ball to me as well, but indeed when the game is on the line, borderline pitches might require swings.

 

UF just doesn’t play competitive. These in state teams don’t give a crap theyjust wanna rip our Azz ! And they do. Was a decent weekend but this puts us back in the toilet.

 

I've always thought Sully cruised controlled mid week games but wow wow wow.

We don't have SEC players in the bottom half of our lineup.

 

Other than Miami not very competitive against other Florida schools. Bad when you have to score close to 10 runs a game to win.

 

Some things about this game never change—

Hustle—never doubt effort.
Pitch don’t throw—always know who you are.
Hit it—where it’s pitched—all game long.
Know there’s not a play you can’t make—play defense.

 

I never felt like we were on cruise in these midweek games, but he definitely uses them to play with lineups and pitchers. To me, cruise control would be not really trying anything, and we’re not doing that.

Losing these mid weeks makes winning the weekend series’ all that more important. If we win our weekend series’, we’ll be in good shape come tourny time no matter what happened in the midweeks. That will be a tall task with this group of pitchers and the bottom of this batting order though.

 

We are just seeing what we got. What are our real goals? Go undefeated?
Our goals should be to win the SEC and get a top 8 national seed. We just won our first SEC weekend vs a top SEC team. We got LSWho? on deck. Let's allow the cream to rise to the top and we will see which arms we can trust. Let's win this SEC weekend and then the next. Let's stay healthy. Let FSU celebrate going 19-0. It's the last 19 games that matter most.

 

Very poor showing on the mound once again. JU was 7-12 coming in and touched us for 7 runs. Just not acceptable with the talent at our disposal.

 

I’m so tired of hearing on the radio and other places that midweek games don’t matter. You are putting on the orange and blue and you should perform well with all your heart and try.
At the end of the day throwing strikes matter, getting people out matters, quality at bats matter; no matter who the opponent is.

 

Me too. So many for years have said it and we all know you play to win every game. Getting frustrating to lose to teams with not nearly the talent we have. Bad for young guys as you hope they don’t get used to it.
