I think I remember 1976 being when the aluminum bats were introduced. I think they swung wood for one more year after I was through.

 

Just looked it up....NCAA approved them in 74. No idea how quickly they got adopted, little before my time

I cracked the low 40’s with minimal errors.

 

I was at the game and when he hit it and before it cleared the fence I told my wife it was time to leave.

Now we have a victory margarita tradition for Gator basketball wins but we reserve victory margaritas for special baseball wins.

We enjoyed victory margaritas tonight.

While a down three walk-off grand slam is tits and maybe would entail several margaritas any walk-off grand slam is noteworthy.

 

With the win UF has matched their win total from last season that got them into the NCAA regional. That's with 13 regular season and SEC tourney still to go....so at least 14 games to add to the win total.
I know people are watching the SEC win total, and that is important....but those midweek games are going to be a big help. 32-34 wins is hard to keep out of postseason

 

Series wins over FSU and Miami are looking pretty good but we have to somehow get to, I would think, 12 league wins.

 

That's the question to me. What if they win 1 game in each of the remaining series and the midweek.....that's 33 wins going into the SEC tourney. Gut says 10 conference wins isn't enough, but gut also says 33 wins is enough. I guess we would then be looking at the other SEC teams in that range....head to head, rpi, total wins, etc. But I am starting to think they take 13 SEC teams....which is exactly the spot we are in today

 

Yep - that's probably a good way of looking at it - need to stay ahead of Miss State and South Carolina and hopefully catch Kentucky which would put us at #12 in the league (painful to even type that lol).

 

Gators are going .500 in conference play, book it.
