So did Sully just made bad choices on the freshman pitchers he signed. Also if we did not get Shelton and a couple others from portol we would be in worse shape.
What good freshman infielders did he signed. Or outfielders.
I don't see a regional host right now. Heck hope we make a regional

I think the pitching choices tonight were quite clear. When we were down 7-0, it looked like Sully was using this game as an open audition for pitchers. When the lead was cut to 7-5, he brought Slater thinking that we could actually win the game, which would be a great boost for the entire team. When Slater was removed the F$U had ballooned again, so it was back to the open audition.

I was hoping that Neely was going to get the start and throw 50-65 pitches as some suggested, but Sully chose not to go that route.

Whew! Lots of pitchers used during this game. Nine to be exact. This might not be the season that we had hoped for.

Even with the extremely high strikeout numbers, this team scores runs - definitely need to cut down on the number of strikeouts and quiet innings but we have been scoring enough to win.
Have to hope the lights come on for a few of these freshmen arms - at some point they have to just trust their stuff and go after the hitters instead of nibbling, walking hitters and compounding their problems.

We don’t know yet. There will be a subset of freshman pitchers that make adjustments to pitching against elite D1 hitters. The others will move on next year. Sully is very obviously looking for a few that will make that jump and become reliable.

I’m trying to think of a Gator pitcher that was just a lockdown dominant pitcher straight out of HS but even our great ones had limited success in their true freshman year. Someone with a better memory can probably think of some who were great day 1.

Yep - He was plugged into Friday night as a freshman and stayed there for 3 years. He & Hudson Randall are my 2 favorite Gator pitchers.

Thanks. Can't think of a great freshman pitcher either so hopefully 3-4 will become good college pitchers.

Yes, thank you - Logan was very good as a Freshman (7-4, 2.16 era) in 2014. Ten years ago. Had season tickets then. Loved watching him pitch
