Jarrett was smart pitching lefties. They gave our best 2 hitters a hard time and our right handed hitters are just not very good. Evans is the only one who had a decent day.

10-6 heading into SEC play and face Texas A&M, then @LSU to get it going. Brutal.

I don't understand some of the pitching choices tonight, after Sully said on Sunday post game..."it all starts on the mound." And with SP holding the opponent for 4-5 innings. In a game you always want to win against rival, especially going into SEC schedule, to give you momo and not throwing your best available arm (Neely) to start is very puzzling. Another game where Gators give up doube digit runs and it won't get easier. A 10-6 record going into SEC play is not encouraging.

Agree 74, but not sure that we're at a point that it can be cleaned up easily. The team seems to lack on field leadership- everyone hoping someone else picks up the batom and does it. Strange vibe on this squad that I can't put my finger on exactly but the team lacks something vital to ensure a winning team. Hope it can turn around soonest.

Gator hitters with 15Ks and Gator pitchers with 9 walks. Bad combo.

Starts with a "T". Nothing we can do about it now, though, except grind.

    You’re right 77—

Easy won’t cut it—it’s going to take determination and hard work. Our hitters have got to eliminate that dang ol’ uppercut and drive the ball on both sides of the plate.

Pitchers—well they’ve got to swell’em up and attack hitters relentlessly hitting spots—no more 1-2 and 0-2 counts and then going soft. They’ve got to smell the blood in the water with the Bob Gibson mentality.

And to your point team leadership is absolutely necessary. Nobody can sit back and wait on Cags or Shelton or any damn body else to pull the wagon. It’s going to take a complete team effort with every single player doing their part. Sure, team Captains can be appointed but team leaders come from within the soul of the players…….

I know it is just one game, but that looked like a well oiled machine we were playing against. Their hitters made our pitchers work, and their pitchers worked us. Even the guy who gave up the grand slam shut us down for the next 2 innings and looked good. Jarrett is going to be a pain in our ass for the next 20 years.
