Doubtful we play, but if we do, I hope Sully does not start Nesbitt again. The Noles got to him early last time getting two doubles and scoring 4 runs in under 4 innings. Maybe we see Tejeda start again since its been awhile. Still no idea about Ursitti and Hartzog.
Last week we started Shelnut at DH and Thomas in LF. Hoping we get Langford in LF and Heyman(bats R) or Prevesk(bats L) at DH. Its a big ballpark, 420 to straight CF, but a short porch 317 in RF. If its not raining the wind will really be whipping thru so look for several dropped pop ups.

 

The smart move would be to reschedule for Wed night..

 

Smarter move for FSU right now is blame it on the weather.

 

With Nesbitt. Suspect defense didn’t help as at least one run unearned. I seem to remember Cade Fisher giving up a 3 run double. I didn’t think Nesbitt pitched poorly at all. I suspect Sully will not start him but he surely could have had a different result with a routine play ( maybe 2 but just remember 1 for sure).

Florida will meet Florida State in the 15th edition of the Sunshine Showdown at 121 Financial Ballpark in Jacksonville on Tuesday, March 28, at 7 p.m. It will be the 158th meeting between the two baseball teams, who have played three times each season since 2007 — one game in Gainesville, one in Tallahassee and one in Jacksonville.
The exception was a two-year period in 2020 and 2021 when the Jacksonville games were canceled because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Florida holds an 8-6 edge in the rivalry in Jacksonville and has won the last five games. The Gators also have won four of the last five games against the Seminoles.

• The teams: No. 3-ranked Florida is 22-4 after sweeping an SEC series at Ole Miss. FSU is 12-12 and dropped all three games of an ACC series at Virginia. UF and FSU have played once this season, with UF scoring five runs in the top of the eighth in Tallahassee to beat the Seminoles 9-5 on March 21.
• The rivalry: FSU leads 131-125-1 but the Gators are 32-19 against the ‘Noles under coach Kevin O’Sullivan.

Fsu is looking at Roman Jackson Gulf Breeze High sophomore pitcher. Gators need to send a recruiter to nwf for all sports. A lot of our competitors get athletes from the area that is growing quickly.

 

I have heard this quote several times this year already. Is Jarrett a good coach? Absolutely...great coach? That remains to be seen...on Sully's level? Not even close. It isn't going to be as easy to rebuild for FSU as some believe. The parity in college baseball these days is astounding. He also faces several challenges such as lack of NIL dollars, absolutely atrocious facilities with no room anywhere to build another stadium as well as an impatient fanbase that will be ready to show him the door if the slide continues into next season. Sure he can hit the portal but so can hundreds of other coaches. Jarrett has his work cut out for him.
