FAU Sports BOCA RATON, Fla. – Florida Atlantic baseball (6-5) will face its second Top 10 SEC team on Tuesday when they head to Gainesville for a meeting with No. 4 Florida (8-3). OWLS IN REVIEW The Owls took two of three from Stonehill over the weekend. After shutting out the Skyhawks 6-0 on Friday, the series was evened on Saturday with a 3-2 defeat. Florida Atlantic bounced back on Sunday with an offensive explosion. Trailing 7-5 entering the bottom of the seventh, the Owls scored 15 runs in route to a 20-7 victory. WHO'S HOT Spencer Rich finished the Stonehill series 7-for-13 with one home run and five RBI. He capped off the Owls' 15-run seventh inning on Sunday with a grand slam. C.J. Williams threw seven shutout innings on Friday night, racking up a career high nine strikeouts. Danny Trehey is tied with Williams for the team lead in strikeouts (16) and has held opponents scoreless for 9.1 innings so far. THE OPPONENT Florida took two of three from Miami over the weekend. The Gators are 8-3 overall after reaching the Championship series of the 2023 College World Series. Junior LHP/DH Jac Caglianone was named SEC Pitcher of the Week on Monday after tossing six shutout innings against Miami on Sunday. He struck out 11 Hurricane hitters. Offensively, Caglianone is hitting .478 with four home runs and 13 RBI. Freshman RHP Luke McNeillie is expected to start on the mound on Tuesday. McNeillie has made three appearances, one which of which was a start against Stetson on February 27. OPPONENT HISTORY Florida won both meetings against the Owls in 2023. Prior to last season's matchup, the Owls had won three of the last four against the Gators dating back to 2018.
There is that Gators vs Bama basketball game at 7 that is also Senior/Grad Student Night. Going to be attending that one instead.
