I complimented winning team at startt on hitting & at end on pitching.

Mentioned 2 game changing situations from my losing perspective.

Called my thoughts/summary of the game,,but not a bit surprised. smh

 

Really nice win in the end. Innings 1 and 3 made us worry about Game 1 all over again but Waldrep did a good job preventing any big inning. And a great job to Cags for getting that homer in the first to settle everyone's nerves. After the third inning the game went like we are use to with Waldrep chewing thru 6 innings to set up the bullpen for tomorrow. Three hits each by Cags and Rivera and two hits each by Riopelle, Shelnut, Halter, Evans, and Robertson. 19 hits is a season high and hope the bats stay hot for one more game on Sunday. Great win tonight Gators and gives us a chance to win the series tomorrow.

 

Yes, great win and Waldrep doing all that was necessary to keep the team in the game and allow the bats to take over. That is what one expects from a weekend starter and especially the Friday Night Guy-- you gotta be able to battle and figure out a way to keep the game close and keep your team fully engaged- at least into the middle innings. Sproat's meltdown in the second inning is very worrisome from the guy who is supposed to be your Dude.
Sully likely will not do it but I would give Waldrep the Friday Night slot- he seems to be mentally tougher and will battle hard with his range of pitches even without his best stuff. I would argue that Sproat at his best is better but you never know what you are going to get when he takes the mound.
Waldrep will battle hard and figure out a way to get you into the middle innings.

 

Crazy to have to burn your closer in a game like that.

Agree with everything you said and pretty much said this last night. Waldrep showed his worth, on a night when he definitely did not have good stuff and could’ve been gone after two or three innings he ate up six innings and got stronger as the night went on.

 

Enjoyed listening to him. Brought back lots of cool
Gator memories.

 

Yeah, really though with 7 run lead Fisher was coming in in 9th to keep Neeley at 30 pitches.
