Baseball vs. Auburn, Sat 4/1, 6:30 pm

Just came off a fresh banning . How did we do last nite. These newbie posters get to me and I had to retaliate. I don’t do well with conflict.

 

I see this as a pivotal game for Gators' season and hoping Waldrep is locked in. We need a solid 6 or 7 innings from him and a big W to fully flush last night's game as an anamoly. That said it was a very disappointing game from Sproat's meltdown to our hitters poor effort against bullpen guys. We will need to be far better when we face elite pitchers in coming SEC weekends.

 

Having to pick yourselves up, dust yourselves off, and stick your nose right back in the fight is going to occur multiple times during a baseball season in the better leagues—wholeheartedly accept that challenge and play like you belong—prove it to yourselves and everyone else every single day.

Total reversal of our story so far.

Starting pitching was horrible but the bullpen was good.

Hitting was almost nonexistant.

National Backwards day is January 31st, not March 31st.

 

Looking at the scores so far, I'm not sure there are very many truly elite pitchers.

Just my opinion on this—in today’s world there is an abundance of power arms—the list of truly elite pitchers is much shorter.

 

Well folks time to hold on and brace for impact. Today is going to be the day we see what this team is made of. Last night they got shell shocked and never found a way to unlock the run machine. I didn't think we would win but I'm surprised we made no comeback of any type by putting a few runs together at least. I'm in Ocala and the winds have been gusting out toward the ENE so I imagine Gainesville will be the same so LHH get ready. All those out in the Adirondack chairs past the outfield better brace for impact.

 

yep.. like MSU,, every guy they run out there seems to be mid 90s+...yet a SEC ERA of 18 entering the weekend.

 

Ball appears a bit juiced this year which may account for the higher scoring and ERAs. Gators have been fortunate to have avoided Ole Miss Ace (Elliot) and Auburn ace (Gonzalez)- both out with injuries. We'll see how they do against Tennesee's trio-- Dollander, Bream and Burns next weekend at Rocky Top. Upcoming schedule is why I am putting a high premium on winning tonight's game and winning this series at home.

Pitching and throwing are two very different things.

 

Yea, next week is good test, but those Vol pitchers haven't been elite this year either and I hope it stays that way. More concerned about starting pitching.

Radio said we left 11 on base yesterday. That speaks to a lack of timely hitting. It never comes out good when your pitching and your hitting are off.

 

Box score said we stranded 12 yesterday. Definitely uncharacteristic of this year's team not to get some clutch hits, especially with 2 outs. We get back to Gator baseball tonight.
