My favorite memory at the Mac has to be the 2005 Super Regional vs SWAC when Alan got the standing ovation in the 9th inning eliminating them to move on to Omaha….

Aw hell, let’s tap a fresh keg!

The 2018 Super Regional was among the best baseball series' I've had the pleasure to witness in recent years.
Game one, Saturday was supposed to be the big matchup-- Singer vs Mize but the Gators chased Mize after 5 and took the game easy.
Sunday, the Gators were the "visitors" and it was a very tight affair...Kowar brilliant but Gators' bats unable to breakthrough and down 2-1, top of the 9th and Langworthy- hit a no-doubter over the screen in RF to tie ... only for Auburn to come back and win the game in the bottom of 9th... off of Byrne no less.
Monday night was as tense and great a game as I can imagine. Full house, relatively cool evening, and Sully sends out freshamen Leftwich who was brilliant for 5 innings followed by Mace for two and then Byrne took us home with 4 sterling innings. That was the game that Sully pulled the double steal - in the middle innings with Horvath on 1st and Reese on 3rd and Horvath taking off from first and falling down to distract the gangly Auburn LHP, Reese scoring the second run.... And then nothing but tension with both closers going head-to head.... Until "Lang with a Bang" moment in the bottom of the 10th... into the night and joy and happiness at the MAC...I'm not ashamed to say that I had tears in my eyes at that very moment as I was high fiving everyone in sight- saying- "We're going to Omaha." What a series by two outstanding teams.

Can't wait to see how Sproat does tonight...hopefully we cut down on HBP...I hate giving them free base runners :)

This is true about the freebies—but I’m much happier with Sproat having the high velocity FB with great run on it rather than straight as a kite string.

I hope he’s “on” tonight too. His change up has come along way also, he’s beating a lot of hitters with it as well.

    Very true.

As for HBP I don't like them but on the other hand I want him to command the inner part of the plate. Make any HBP burt. No lollypop curves.

That Saturday game was absolutely scorching, brutal heat. Brady really dug deep. And if memory serves I was sitting behind the famous gatorjjh!

His two seamer has at times been special. Not only armside run but late sink. And he seems to be in control of it like in the Alabama start. That was incredible.

Now a four seamer can be straight as a kite string but just don't sink as much as the hitter thought leading to easy pop ups and cans of corn if not just a swing and a miss. But you got to keep that pitch elevated. Below the letters or lower is a HUGE mistake.

My dad never said that he watched me pitch in Little League. That was a lie. One midweek evening game I was the starting pitcher. When I went to the mound in the second inning I saw him eating a hotdog behind home plate. After the fourth inning he left.

We won and if I recall correctly I threw a shutout.

After the game I rode my bike home and he never said anyting.

    That was my dad.

Your post makes one want to wonder did they pull the script for “The Rookie”, the baseball life of Jim Morris played by Dennis Quaid from our own @GatorLurker’s past…….

I didn’t find an emoji for this.

Auburn's starting pitcher is Will Cannon, 2-0, 2.29 ERA in 19.2 innings - sophomore righty.

I know the movie and the story. One of the best baseball movies ever bassed on a true story. I don't think that I ever had a 98 mph fastball.

I did have a huge amount of armside motion on my two seamer.

The only time I had a gun on me was at the Braves ballpark in Atlanta where it was three pitched for a dollar. I was in my late thirties and hadn't thown in years. Street shoes and no warm-ups. It rang up 88 mph.
