Agreed but somehow I suspect Barlow will not be a mystery to the Noles this time around. Of course any sinker baller trying to survive belt high is in for a short day.

Agree....plus he threw 77 pitches Saturday so he's probably out of the mix anyway. I have no idea who they can start....Jenkins and his 10+ ERA is the most likely I guess. Maybe Biemiller. But it's cluster on the mound for Tuesday at best.

And don't forget this game is in Jax with the deep CF and shorter RF wall.

Not just this coming Tuesday—but for the rest of the season our guys are going to
HAVE TO pitch in and out DOWN only going high by design and execution.
FOR SURE WE’VE GOT TO KEEP IT OUTTA THE HEART.

He's not ready for sec play. Hope he's ok. Maybe a RS would be a better play for him.

He’s got a loose live arm but at some point he has to realize that throwing strikes is his #1 priority.

I think we are at the same spot as Georgia was a year ago. A lot of young arms that need a year in the SEC. What I’ve seen so far is our pitchers getting in trouble with walks, and then they start throwing the ball center cut. We may go . 500 at best this tear with this staff. For the most part, our situational hitting has been a dud from everyone. We get guys on with no outs or one out, and we plate 1 run or no runs. A lot of ks in scoring situations. Sully’s body language says he feels like he’s in purgatory. Glad we can watch our basketball team right now.

One last thing regarding NIL, how many guys in MLB getting paid pretty well and what’s their support? I have interaction with Matt LaPorta, and I know he’s stepped up in a big way. Wondering about others.

None of those guys were paid when they played college ball - maybe I'm wrong but I can't imagine they would be big NIL supporters.

I think most would want success for the program, especially if they played for Sully.

    Where the crawfish stay.
Pitching has obviously been dismal due to injuries. I expect these outcomes until the staff gets healthy, what has me the most concerned is the timely hitting and errors. How many time have the bases been loaded with one out or runners on second and third with no outs? We have seen this over and over where RISP never get advanced.

There have been games where UF actually out hit the other team only to not advance runners. I am not sure that some of the guys are “not Sec caliber” but actually believe they are. If Sully recruited them then he has to have an eye for talent based on history alone. Look at what he has brought in through the years. There just seems to be a lack of leadership in the room. No one to fire up the troops and lead them into battle. BT Riopell was one of those guys who made others better. Haven’t seen that from anyone this far

I'm with you on that one. The pitching staff is bruised and inexperienced. So until they are somewhat healthy and the younger guys get more experience we are going to unfortunately have to win with offense more often than not. Maybe we'll be a good pitching team a month or two from now, but I don't see it fixing itself by this weekend. The offense on the other hand has no excuse for playing this poorly. I don't believe for a minute that Sully whiffed on half a dozen position player transfers.

This is why he should have stayed another year at Sante Fe. I was told this was a big reach when he came over to us. Good talent but potential late bloomer. Scouts felt he was no where close to being ready fwiw

You’re absolutely correct. If he was struggling to throw strikes in JUCO ball the spotlight only gets brighter when the stage gets bigger.

Three misses at 94-96 doesn’t make for much mystery at 95 in the heart.

I think you're right about that - but you can want success for the program and donate to facilities a/k/a Darren O' Day bullpen and still be unwilling to contribute to NIL. I don't know how pro-alumni feel about it personally - be interested to know if there have been any such contributions.

Exactly.....imo there is a preference to support the program vs NIL. I've heard the comment that former players earned their money, current guys want it given to them. And that's not entirely wrong

Question: is a nil contribution a tax write off? That might be the angle to get former players who made it big to contribute.

also second question: how much, if any of our booster contributions make it into the nil pool? Should we just tack on a nil contribution to the season ticket price? That seems like an easier way to get the little guys contributing.

Good post. On the University to work with Singer, India, Faedo, Bader, Alonso, Wyatt and others. Alonso alone makes 27 million a year. I’m sure former players would help if they are not helping.
