    Amick at third
    Shelton hopefully at short
And love to see Halter in left or if Shelton doesn’t work at short I think defensively Halter is very good there.

I would take Fabian & Nesbitt at AU..Kind of a mid major..;)

However, Butch wont take SEC transfers, or at least that use to be his stance on transfers. He did let a former Ole Miss guy walk on couple years ago.

Curious where the confidence on Amick is coming from (not that I am questioning it—just curious). He’s actually visited UTenn and, for what it is worth, their fans seem at least if not more confident.

He has been at UT and is supposed to be in Gainesville this weekend if he still visits.

Now that Miami has named a HC- after dithering for weeks- would not be suprised if Lastres winds up there. An excellent talent but injuries held him back here. He can help a top tier team.

Yeah, wondering if they join Guscette at Bama? Nesbitt has solid stuff and change up is solid. Not Sproat by day means but stuff is pretty good and he’s got a competitive streak in him I really like. I think he’s a kid with not a ton of innings that’s still learning how to pitch.

Fabian is another one I think could put some numbers up. I think he’s quite a bit stronger now and can play a couple of positions.

    Marianna, Fl

I would think Robinson in CF, Evans in RF, and ?? in LF at this point in time.

Got it. Yeah - don’t know whether credible, but their insiders say he’s committed but has yet to announce.

Yikes. We need more bats. Hope portal delivers as in coming class is very heavy on arms.

Arms always get top priority. We had a good staff this year, but could have used a couple more when it mattered. Incoming bats- both frosh and transfer- are promising and another OF and C will help, but pitchers will get us back to Omaha.

My familiarity with Shelton's fielding issues is limited to comments on this board. I saw all three games here and remember him in the lineup and remember a positive impression, but few details. On the other hand, I've paid close attention to Halter for three years and he's one of my favorites on the team.

While he has played some second and mostly third, especially since Fabian couldn't handle the hottest of the hot corner plays, he has been the primary back up at short in the few occasions Rivera was out. My guess is one of the incoming frosh is anticipated to take over at short, but it will be a wide open competition.

Shortstop is the one position where good glove/no hit can win the job. Shelton may well be the guy next year, but his strong batting credentials won't be the reason. Like Wyatt and Shelnut, a good bat can win LF, not short. Obviously, Wyatt was strong on defense and Shelnut was good to start and improved as the year went on.

Halter has shown he can hit close to .300 or better at times and can hit home runs, too. If he can do it for a full season, his speed and glove will be good enough to him to find a position anywhere in the infield or outfield. If he falls to the .220 range again, he may play a lot less.
