Amick has been rumored to be a Gator.
Hoping no on Nesbitt as I think he has solid talent if given a true role or even just as a depth piece.

 

For me, get the best pitchers available. And for me pitching is more than throwing fast balls.

 

Agree on a corner outfield, gotta have more thump from !st base than he's profiled to bring. Be interesting what Halter does, several kids playing time will be determined by that.

 

don't know about Abner being a starter with who's coming back but he could end up getting all the innings he could want out of the pen if the control keeps improving. He for sure has a shot at the next level with better control.

 

Fabian will not be our 1B next season....

 

I understand all 3, though hate to see it. I think Deric was given every chance to earn the 2nd base job. He actually started the season there, but lack of hitting and Cade Kurland's emergence settled that position early on. I thought he might come back to try to win the SS job, but my guess is that the Shelton signing settled that issue. If Colby Halter comes back, 3rd base is his, IMO. And Cags is the first baseman whenever he's not pitching. So Fabian is the odd man out it seems.

Personally, I don't think Prevesk & Nesbitt were given enough opportunities and when they did play they performed well overall. Both guys want to be regulars and it's apparent it wasn't going to happen at UF. I think all 3 will find success elsewhere and I wish them only the best except for when they play us.

That's 8 guys gone. I would guess there will be a few more.

 

When does the portal shut down? Have all our players who are in the portal found new homes?

They have to enter by the 13th of July. No, they have not all found, or at least not announced, new homes yet.

 

Best to them. I looked up former UF pitcher Mink the other day...not a good ERA at usf. Then there was the baseball version of JT Daniels (QB who went USC-Uga-UVA-Rice) in Jordan Carrion, UF to Uga to fsu.

 

Jordan Carrion never went to UGA. Acton went to UGA.

Agree. Waiting to see what Talbott, Purnell, Arroyo and Jameson do. And I want to see if Colby Halter is coming back. He's projected somewhere in the #225-275 pick in the draft.

Talbott & Ficcarotta are both redshirt sophomores, although they've both been in school for 4 years. From everything I've read and heard, Halter wants to be a coach and I'm thinking he wants another year at the feet of Kevin O'Sullivan.

Nesbitt- love to see him at Stetson. Mid major but good program with good staff. UNF or JU are places I’d like to see him go to be a weekend guy.
Prevesk- another guy I could see at Stetson or JU

Fabian- USF or UCF but could see him starting at most mud majors.
