Do we have someone on the roster you like better? Don’t think he’ll improve any as he matures? Seems like his bat would be a nice addition.

His bat would definitely be a plus but the fielding percentage is definitely an issue. 10 errors in 88 chances vs Halter’s 6 errors in 111 chances. Shelton would have 12.6 errors in the same number of chances. Not only that Halter has made some incredible plays in the field.
Also noticed Thomas and Fabian have not made an error in 34 chances each even though a lot of Fabian’s chances were at first base.

Billy Amick at Clemson seems to be the name of the day for UF.....would take him over some other options in a heartbeat

Interesting when I looked at the Clemson players bio's (I know, acting like a stalker), it mentioned catcher also a position. I've had two children and my wife all attend Clemson, it's a pretty cool place to go to school and they support most all of their sports well. Would be a big right handed bat to add to the UF line-up. He must have been hurt part of the season as he had about 75% of the at bats as most of the regulars. If he wasn't hurt then there might have been issues with playing time because batting lines warranted being on the field.

My first thought was he had to earn time early in the year, played very little as a freshman.
Also a lot of dh....he probably wants more time in the field

He needs refinement in the field...thus why he was a DH. Felt he shouldve played more this year and felt that HC botched Tenn game (which he did although the HC did a marvelous job in his first year).

Looking like UF here. Pretty sizeable NIL package as well...

Well since he is also mentioned as a catcher then Sully will think he'd be great at LF.

  12. FWIW Clemson boards were complaining he was a done deal to UF and whatnot, who knows how that goes.

I’ve also heard Amick to Florida. Rumors are he’s not even talking to the Tiger coaches anymore. I hope it’s true. I would take him in a second

The Gamecocks feel they are heavily involved with Amick, Shelton and Kennedy Jones and some feel they could get them.

Kennedy Jones Sophomore LF at UNCG. Pretty good hitter and probably will end up at SC. They want all 3
