Was it Aggie pitching this weekend or Gator hitters not being able to hit sliders in the dirt but swinging anyway?

We did watch some great fastballs down the middle though but those sliders were so good to swing at

My thoughts exactly. Taking lots of fastballs in the hitting zone and swinging from the heels at balls in the dirt all weekend. I'm not impressed with our hitting approach and that is partly on the coaching. Scoring 10 runs over three days and losing the series against these guys is flat out embarrassing. Our National Seed chances took a big hit this weekend.

Do our players have more freedom than players on most other teams? I've read Sully pretty much rolls with a sink or swim MLB approach, which is fine if you the talent and depth.

I don't often post during the games on the game thread but wait until the game is over.

Cags was pitching great until he walked a guy and then the wheels fell off. He was even throwing off speed pitches for strikes on the first pitch. If he can do that often he can be very effective.

Not enough patience at the plate and not enough hitting the ball where it was pitched. Bad enough to swing at sliders low and away but also with swings where it looked like they wanted to pull the ball?

In 2005 we won the SEC regular season with a 20-10 record.

With a bunch of upsets this weekend, LSU, Arkansas & Vanderbilt all have 7 losses, Florida and South Carolina have 9 and Kentucky has 10. 6 games to go and we finish up with Vandy & KY. Just gotta win those 2 series and we'll be fine. Maybe not win the SEC, but get a Top 4 seed in the SEC tournament and probably a Top 8 national seed. It's all still within reach.

You've expressed an opinion that Sully is the best D1 college coach. So dp you think Sully have gone out to talk to Jac earlier?

Agreed and it will definitely be critical for us to host a Super Regional if we play our way through the Regional.
It is such an advantage to play through this scenario enroute to the CWS should we be fortunate enough to win a berth there.

It is, but Sully and team will have to make adjustments for sure.

At some point we will have to bunt. On a day like today 1-2 bunt hits could have been the difference.

In terms of pitching, he’s got at least 2 guys that for some reason he’s very inconsistent with with regards to opportunities presented. Era’s aren’t made up and tell a pretty good story. Until a few things change this is a team that may get out of a regional but not a super.
The walks and HBP’s are troublesome. Rather throw guys that will throw strikes and get hit than guys that walk guys which results in 85 pitches in 4 innings.

Jac has had control issues all season and early on Jac looked great. Once he lost confidence it was a quick melt down. Riopelle is the guy that needed to settle Jac down as the first option. And a trip by Riopelle buys some time to get an arm loose in the pen.

I think if you don’t win the SEC Tournament it’s ok . I just don’t wanna finish runner up.

I remember how frustrating AJ Puk was at times when he lost control. He's a major league arm now. Maturity comes with experience and Cags is going to be a great two way player in the bigs. I don't see him as a starter like Otani, but he will get innings and bring a big bat.

Just my opinion but the SECT only helps bubble teams—everybody else is getting one more full tilt time through the ringer before Regionals start to make sure you’re as tired as you can be so the rest of the field has an outside chance.
