Opportunities were there. Can’t pin this one on the bullpen. Dig in …avoid the sweep tomorrow

 

They are just better than us. And that’s with missing 2 good starting position players and a very good pitcher.

Our approach at the plate has not been good. Taking way too many fastballs over the plate. Hope we start to get aggressive again at the plate, this taking pitches to get us to 0-2 ain’t working.

 

Their pitching staff has held us down better than any team we've faced so far. Plus they've got 3 of their 4 starting infielders out with injury and still had enough offense to beat us. Hopefully we can salvage tomorrow's game, but they look like the better team to me.

 

We may not be as good as we thought? Time will tell.

 

We are certainly playing like crap right now.

 

You bet Matside- and if Sully had let Sproat finish the inning last night we might not be staring a sweep in the face tonight. Of course- you do have to hit and get some runs to win a ballgame. Not sure what's happened to our bats but man it's tough to watch- lots of passive ABs or simply bad swings over the top of sliders.

 

Well if we continue to try to hit in pitcher’s counts and keep trying to pitch in hitter’s counts—ugly ain’t over yet!……

 

When you watch fastballs go by, aren’t aggressive, and get into pitcher’s counts it ain’t gonna be pretty.

I just wanted to say how much I appreciated the way the game threads are done here. For instance, today I got called into work and couldn't access the game on TV until an hour and a half in. I love that the score is not in the title! It was exciting (but today, disappointing) to go through the play-by-play to get caught up. (I remember some guy years ago complaining about the lack of scores in the title--please never do this)!! Anyway, I love these threads. Sometimes when I don't get home from work until late into the night my favorite part of the day is going through them. I'm not a regular poster but I wanted to let you all (and especially Gatorgal) know how much I really appreciate these game threads and the excellent commentary that is usual throughout. Go Gators!!
