I'm fine with the guys Sully is going to in the bullpen but it seems he is wanting to see if we can really use only freshmen in this tough game on the road. Thus saving our best arms for tomorrow after the rough start.

Sure do miss Tyler Nesbitt and that nice era last year. We win this game today with a guy like him in middle relief.

Some may disagree but Nesbitt changes things with what he could do. Relievers gave up 5 today against a decent team. Nesbitt’s value was easily third best with what we had returning. Just having Purnell and Fisher as our only guys with experience beyond Slater and Neely ain’t enough. Not saying Nesbitt is Slater but his era last year speaks for itself and easily gives us 2-3 solid innings today without giving up 3-4 runs.

Explain how a sweep against Miami in Coral Gables is "expected"? I think taking two of three in a road series against a very good program should be the expected, but that's just me.

We out hit them but their hits were more timely and they didn't waste any base runners. Through seven innings they had nine runs and only one runner left on base which is rather ridiculous. Tip of the cap to them, we'll take the series tomorrow.

We are a much much better team than them. They have two solid pitchers and 1-2 pretty good hitters. When you are at our level You definitely want to take a series but against a non-ranked team, you want to sweep them even on the road

Ufff..that was not pretty. Top of the first kind of set the tone... Two on, no outs and Heyman Ks on three pitches (after taking two strikes) and Shelton hits into DP. Peterson had some jitters in his first road start but the way he battled back and kept the team in the game is laudable. Sorry to see McNeillie with another poor outing, he looked solid in scrimmages. Overall, giving up 10 runs to this Miami team is not good. After last night and with Peterson and Cags on the bill, I was hopeful for a sweep. Now... Gotta go out and grab the series tomorrow.
On a positive: Thomas seems to have found his mojo and Albert continues to do his thing-- a veteran with high baseball IQ who plays to game really well.

Went back and timed Kurland's 10 seconds. It was 11 seconds before he got back in the box but the pitcher took 6 seconds to get back on the rubber. Have no idea what the rule is. Anyone??

The Kurland time-out strike-out certainly seemed to be a momentum killer.
