But Im in the minority of valuing reg season over post season. Vols were the '22 champs in my book.. Or best team rather. same thing to me. WF

prob not,,but those are of zero concern to me. 13 undefeated fball seasons equalling 2 trophies will do that to you

SMU was undefeated in football in 1987 and 1988 without trophies.

My undergrad alma mater has never lost a varsity football game and has yet to win a trophy. They have never had a varsity football team, BTW.

 

SMu was th best team both those years. Like AU was in 93 while on selective probation. But overall record not atop my criteria list.

fairfield was not my champ year they went 52-4 lol or w/ever it was. had #1 rpi entering post season

Name another sec undefeated that didnt result in title,,theres a couple,,but not 11 times. Plus 83,highest ranked to win bowl game

 

SMU didn't play those years. They were on Death Penalty.

 

i didnt verify exact years, just figured you meant the years they dominated everyone prior to that. also didnt think they were undefeated in that run, but again didnt look

I dont care at all what media polls and made for tv events tell me when comes to who i think is best team per year..my only point..Ill remeber Vols dominating 22 season much quiker than OM getting hot for 3 weeks.

Once format changes to best of 3 up to CWS I may change, or at least pick from those 8,,which is usualy the case anyways.

UF is my 84 champs btw(but only 1 lol). and still best team in UF hstory imo

Never watched a Wbball game in life, so cant help ya there. Can barely watch mens last 30 years. Its bad.

 

When you said 22 season I thought you meant 22 seasons.

Funny, id say folks in Oxford would disagree. They've had plenty of better teams that didn't even make it to the cws. I'm sure that NC trophy looks pretty sweet in oxford and the Vols wish they had one.
Personally, Id take a NC the ole Miss way in a heartbeat over the Vols crash and burn model, not even making it to Omaha.

 

Im sure they do, why I said i know Im the minority. Ive never seen any of AU trophies, or the cases, so does nothing for me..lol But really I just value/would rather be better over 3 months as oppossed to 3 weeks. Ideally both, or at least a NC contender all year. Post season is a bonus, I just enjoy the reg season race much more than the post season. The reward of a good reg season is watching more games to me, which I dont expect to start any season , any sport.. Probaby minority there also, at least here..

REbs enjoyed 3 weeks of 5 month season andgot to buy a t shirt, Vols enjoyed 4 of 5 months , no t shirt.. I can see both I guess. ..maybe..

We need a NIT in baseball. Id enjoy watching AU in that same as the real one(not that they would make nit this year..lol) .. Only downfall would be wouldnt watch much of real one if same time.

 

A year or so from now, maybe even now, no body other than a few diehard hillbillies will recall that vol season tho.

However, most will recall that Reb NC, esp given how they did it as the last team invited. I understand the logic that it down plays the regular season but that's how all sports are now. I recall the Marlins winning 2 WS, but never a division title.
