Imagine not having the arm to play second base.

 

Seems like we need one.

 

Yeah if you told me beforehand we took 1 out of 3 I wouldn't be too upset. But a road series win and even a sweep against the #2 team in the country was RIGHT THERE

3rd base coach was here last year. He is supposed to direct runners coming to and on 3rd. Did not do a good job in this series. Back home starting Tuesday. Let's get some home cooking.

 

Especially with a ball hit that hard right to the left fielder that’s not playing deep at all.

 

Eh, arky did too in the second game. That throw to third was a horrible mistake by their pitcher.

 

It is very concerning.. and getting lower arm slot as the season has progressed

I think arky has a long way to go to catch up to us in the “doing dumb shit” category.

Even with a win in Game 3, it was hard for me to feel really good because of all the dumb crap our guys did.

 

Sully post game interview:

• Long day
• Walked a .187 hitter and things got away from us after that in 1st game
• Had to use Macneilly in game 1 and didn't want to in 1st game - save fir 2nd day
• No explanation for Donay's decoy by CF
• CAGs battled like always
• menendez threw well
• Yost had incredible day - was not overmatched - going to get a lot more PT
• We won 1 but could have won the series - the mistake with 45 ft line and failure to get the sac bunt down

 

When does winning 1 of 3 on the road against the #2 team seem like a lost opportunity? This weekend. Arky pithcing is solid but overall we can match up with them and the series for the Gators was there for the taking... We shot ourselves in the foot in our two losses- cannot afford to do that any longer. How many third outs at the plate this weekend? Several caused by poor coaching at third.
BTW: That casual throw from Kurland in the 9th raised my blood pressure 20 pts. We have to get sharper, more focused but how many times have we said the same thing and... the same stuff happens. Still in the running and some newbies finding their stuff so anything possible.

 

It is alarming how many mistakes this team makes this far into the season. Nice to break their home winning streak, but this was a huge wasted opportunity with two 1 run losses. Should have swept them.

 

Got the dub W! Way to go boys! Now with the new sticks in the lineup, run off a lengthy string of W's late and get your Gator foot in the playoff door, and everybody get hot, and make a run..... ⚾️
