Baseball Around the SEC, Week 5 (3/16 - 3/22/23)

UGa is 350 down LF line(longest Ive seen anywhere),,but RF is a chip shot... Pretty much every SEC/college park not out west is a bandbox, either by dimesions or ball just carrying well

330 down lines is pretty standard college or pro. Its the alleys at most college parks that play short.

AU is probably most difficult park to hit HRS in despite pretty small dimesions.. Obv the 30 ft wall in LF,, LF alley is deepest part of park(not listed but 385-390 is best guess.. Ball has never carried well to RF. OR CF really but CF 385,, thats your best hope unless going over LF wall. I see 100 singles/doubles(combined) each year off LF wall that are HRs in every other park.

Still not difficult though, and opponents seem to hit more than home team...lol

 

Rebs werent very good last year until last month,, worse this year IMO.

BC also took series at VPI last weekend..road warriors.. Also after getting blasted game 1.. Are they using backwards roation? Smart if so.

Bc also is team that scored 9 runs in 9th inning w/ 2 out no one on to tie AU and win in extra 3-4 years ago.. Just figured Id throw that in..

BC finished them off 8-2. BC now 14-3(4-2)

Im rooting for all potential sweeps today to happen..except one, but that ones a given. Which is why rooting for the other ones..lol

BTW this is not your typical Arkansas team either,, very unimpressed despite the 2 easy wins.. But comparing to normal Arkansas teams

Have to say I'm pleasantly surprised. Not that I thought this Vols team was #2 in the country but Mizzou has never been good in baseball. Don't think they've ever had a winning sec record. Strange times.

and pitching is least of the problems.. I expected to giveup 7 per game.. scoring 5 in 2 1/2 games not so much,, but not remotely healthy

1st 3 game losing streak in 3 years w/ out a rally. will need more than current 1 hit for that

Was bored so watching some of LSU /Aggies game today Aggies had tieing runs on base, Aggie runner stole third but LSU third baseman pushed him off base with the tag and he was called out. Reviewed and confirmed. Never seen that before.

killed it… had a hit today with an RBI.

Yesterday in the double header he was 5-8 , 3 homers and drove in 6.

FSU about to get seriously tested. Lost 5 of their last 6 games and their next 8 games are 2 games vs UF, 3 games at UVA and 3 games at Miami.

Tennessee already 0-3 in the SEC, they've got a 3 series stretch later this year: @ LSU, UF, @ Arkansas. Yikes.
