Baseball Around the SEC, Week 10 (4/20 - 4/26/23)

Wonder if the Vols can take 1 or 2 from Vandy at home. Sooner or later talent has to show up. Unless it's just overrated.

Halfway through the SEC season, and I believe the only teams that have not been run-ruled in conference play are:

Vandy
LSU
Tennessee
TAMU
Bama

Interestingly, Vandy and LSU both loss their opener to Carolina by a large margin (6-14 for VU, 5-13 for LSU), and that was the only game Carolina won against them (LSU/Carolina didn't get a third game). Here's to hoping!

MSU tied it at 1 scoring from 2nd on a inf. single(no E involved)

AU takes lead in 8th on a tag up from 1b,,on a foul pop(bunt) to C.. beats throw to 2nd, ball gets away, heads to 3rd. Sac fly scores him for winner.. lol

Didn't watch but I noticed a 3 run ole miss HR to RC tonight so I'm guessing some beer was airborne. .

So much for the Skenes forecast. He may get the last laugh tho as LSU is up 6-3 in the 7th. Of course the tigers only have 4 hits.

 

Tennessee 9 run 1st today. Florida Arkansas and Vandy all getting roughed up on the road this weekend.

 

WOW Tennessee is up 14-1 over Vandy in the bottom of the 5th. That would be amazing for the number 1 team to get run ruled if this continues. Just goes to show you its baseball.

 

@jhfxof_tough loss. Score 7 in the bottom of the 9th and leave tying run on 3rd. There was no doubt in Gators game. LOL. Hey you split with gumps in SB.

 

Howell solo shot to start 9th then almost a GS to tie it..stupid giant wall. At least showed signs of life w/ bats in 9th for first time in a while. Pretty much do or die tomorrow as far as realistic post season chances. And MSU has much more left pitching wise. Bats will show up or lose..might regardless. Rumor is Gonzalez could be back next week(@SC) to little to late probably.

Thanks to the DH today Dean decided not to start Penta v Fouts game 1.. I said should do this regardless, but Penta was sched. to start lastnight. Got exactly what I expected w/ split . Although Penta was far from sharp today.. Hopefully saving it for showdown tomorrow w/ Fouts.

My highlight of the day was Cal Ripken Jr popping into the AU booth for couple innings. Started telling old Orioles stories w/ Greg Olsen(teammate at Os) Guess in town w/ daughter visting vet school

 

Vols sweep Vandy at home.. 10-5 today. Weird weekend.
SC now with best record in SEC.

 

AU comes back from 7-0 after 3, to walk it off in 9th 12-11.. Actually took lead in 8th but of course had to give up run in 9th. Ware couldnt find ball at feet on routine 5-3 w/ 2out runner on 3rd.. but he hit the go ahead 3 r HR earlier so...

And in the never seen that before...AU 1B McMurray hit 2 HRs, one off each fair poll. Off an ambidextrous pitcher.. Both left on left though.

Still kickin..barely..@SC, LSU next 2...

 

I predict that one of the teams will sweep. LOL.
