I think you have a point. It's time to blowup the agency of law enforcement professionals and replace it with an agency whose first priority is loyalty to the Dear Leader with the penchant for orange makeup.
Nothing unusual about it in 2025. It is only within the past few years that the background investigations between DoD and the rest of the gov became interchangeable. Having been through background checks / full investigations on both sides I can tell you the DoD is no slouch. If I had to pick my poison, I would take the FBI route every time. The main difference now is that the equivalent FBI checks are faster because they are better staffed.
