Its a common sci-if trope where aliens catch human diseases or vice versa. I want to go on record to suggest that this is exceedingly unlikely. It would be like catching a disease from an oak tree, except oak trees are actually related to us.

While I’m on this soap box, I’m skeptical an alien could even eat a human. It’s possible, but I’m not sure we should expect them to be evolved to digest earthly molecules like proteins and fats.

Lastly, despite all that, I do think they might want to kill us. The benefits of killing should be universal and not limited to the specifics of Earth.

I suspect that with the infinite amount of worlds. They would just bypass earth. They may want planets to colonize but terraforming seems less daunting than dealing with natives.

This is a good point too. If the aliens found us today, they would have only missed an easily colonized planet by a couple thousand years.

One other scenario I rate as likely is that they might want to cooperate. That’s probably what we Earth people would do, if we were to find another intelligent species. They might be able to help us figure out how to fairly determine a champion in a 16 team SEC.

my thought was not that it would be by accident. Any ALF with advanced enough science to travel in large numbers in search of new resources would have the ability to diagnose and or produce synthetic or biologic capable of Wiping us out without lasers or photon torpedoes doing damage to the resources they are in search….and Do so likely without us ever knowing they were there or their intentions

It is indeed hard to predict what these hypothetical creatures might be capable of. Though if they are anything like us, they probably killed themselves off before they ever evolved such technology.

    Ha.
    Sort of related to topic.
I watched Planet of the Apes 1968 last night with my 14 year old daughter.
It was fun to see it through the eyes of a youngster. Lots of questions, and boy do I love that ending.

She is basically a money maker for the region forcing them to make her predictions seem true:

"Vanga is a well-promoted state business, thanks to which the provincial region has become a place of pilgrimage for crowds from all over the world. Do you know who prayed to Vanga the most? Taxi drivers, waiters in cafes, hotel staff are people who, thanks to the "clairvoyant", had excellent stable earnings. All of them willingly collected preliminary information for Vanga: where the person came from, why, what he hopes for. And Vanga then laid out this information to clients as if she saw them herself."

"There are no documented opinions that Vanga predicted
the death of Stalin, the accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, the victory of Boris Yeltsin in the 1996 presidential elections, the September 11 attacks, as well as Veselin Topalov's victory at the World Chess Championship. "

We don’t know the number of life sustaining planets so finding one capable could be too good to pass up.

Also what if they look similar to turkeys? They may be appalled at what we did to their kin yesterday.

Very cool. Hopefully she didn’t know the ending in advance.

I never watched any of the sequels. I did see one of the modern reboots with James Franco. Good as an action movie, but very different than the original.

If an alien culture could traverse through the universe, I think it very likely they would have a Prime Directive :ninja::

the Prime Directive is a guiding principle of [aliens] that prohibits its members from interfering with the natural development of alien civilizations

Why would aliens come to a planet who's orbit is changing causing radiation and who's people are developing biological weapons, not to mention why would they come to a planet where Joe Biden was just elected president? Aren't there greener pastures out in the Universe?

If the aliens read this forum no way they stop by planet earth.

It’s a sh!thole planet according to many here.
