Plagiarism? On a Gator Board? I am SHOCKED!!! I prefer to just say that imitation is the most sincere form of flattery. Well, I WOULD be flattered...if I were ever plagiarized.
Yeah, next time I will read all the responses before I post my thoughts on your thread... I can't help it if someone else came up with common knowledge before me. Sheesh, tough crowd here.
Perhaps we need some of that on the O side. Or at least from a player or 2. A fiery leader at QB or RB would make a big difference. Always need one on the Oline.
I’m hoping the Gators sack Rattler on the first series (on 3rd down, preferably!). Fuel the D and set the tone for the game!
Yes, GET TO THE QUARTERBACK!........... The late Al Davis of the Raiders: "Get to the Quarterback." GO GATORS!!!! Totally love the energy A.A.'s D is feeding off of this year. Stay hungry.
I feel like there’s one there and maybe 2. Tomorrow will show us as that’s a tough place to play. Pearsall Johnson Mertz Leonard I think at least one there.
I am going to have to disagree. I think Napier’s best hire was the agent that got him a $7,000,000.00 annual salary and a buyout that looks like the GDP of a South American nation in exchange for 11-11.
Hey, I can be wrong once in a while. As time went on has showed his lack of experience. He may be better suited as a lb coach. I don't know of any hires BN has made that I'd consider great. PS I changed the title.
Injuries to an already thin and struggling defense are what they are. The program just continues its curse as we go into the toughest stretch of opponents offenses. That's not to make excuses. People have somewhat ignored the lack of sacks, turnovers or pass breakups this season. Sure it's been noted but not to the degree of an issue it has been. What have we done well? Rush 3 drop 8 and receivers are still running free EARLY in their routes.
Interceptions are not allowed in this defense. no one has responsibility for any receiver, Just keep them in front of you. Never mind the thirty yard short pass right up the middle with no one within twenty yards. We need to man up the receivers, yes we will get beat but we would have more people to get to the qb.
Armstrong is a much better coordinator than Toney. With that being said and the talent vacancies the defense just boils down to the question of if the defense can get pressure.
I see may blunders on D. I don't know if it's AA's scheme or some of the players out of position, but it's probably a little of both. Our LB's being out of position has been killing us all year. (and last year). James being hurt really put us behind the eight ball. I was watching Hopper play against the Dawgs. I'm sure if we were able to keep him our D would look much much better at this time.
The fundamentals that we did so well early in the year like setting the edge, run fit, tackle, etc have gone the way of the Dodo. I have no idea what happened or who is to blame, it probably is a mix of many things. I still hold out hope for AA as I have seen what his D is capable of, hopefully he can get back to that standard.
I remain optimistic on the long term rebuild that CBN can get it done. CBN is going to be here at least another 2-3 years and I will support him until the end. Not because i thought he was the correct hire (or not), but he needs to succeed. The positive's to all this are that AA and (even CBN) hopefully can learn from this year and in the off season make much needed changes. AA is not an old goat like TG was (TG refused or couldn't change) and CBN has already demonstrated he has to ability to change. Kirby had the foresight and luxury of handing over the D to Chump who happened to be floating around, allowing him to become a true CEO and Coach. CBN hopefully will find someone like that for the O in the offseason. AA, being so young, will have to grow and learn from this year.
D has zero killer instinct, too many guys just standing around watching and super hard to believe so many kids right out of high school are the best players we've got.
