Love this guy and the coaching/enthusiasm he brings. Night and day difference from Tony. I believe our D is in good hands with AA at the helm. With the recruits on D I believe we will get this D will be Gator strong.
My only concern is that other teams will see what I'm seeing and will eventually want to make AA a head coach. Hopefully, we keep him as long as we can.

3 games in and this D is playing absolutely solid. I know our back end gets burned now and then but that's going to happen. That too will improve with experience and with upgrades in recruiting. D is back in FloriDa.

This DB group has to be w/o question the youngest group in CFB, yet they're still playing relatively well. These next 2-4yrs with these guys is going to be a blast!!

Well hopefully now that our administration and boosters are willingness pay more in support of football programs maybe, just maybe, our coaches will be on the high end of the pay scale vs being easy poachingn targets

This defense last year would have won us quite a few more games all things being equal. Kentucky might be the only game they wouldn't have made a difference. Not counting the bowl game.

And Jackson got interfered by a 220 lbs. receiver, so he did his job. Marshall is another story.

To be fair, Tony wasn’t given much when he got here. Not to take anything away from AA, so far it’s a great hire, but he didn’t inherit the same Grantham mess.

True frosh Castell is so good, he played every snap. Grantham would have cycled in Kamari for half the snaps just to play favorites and keep him happy so they wouldn't have to spend time recruiting another player. We were so duped by Mullen.

Bend but don't break yesterday. 16 total points ain't too shabby vs a offensive team like Tenn.

Oh god, if that fat slob was still here UT would have scored 50-60pts. But I wonder what's up with Kamari, he was a borderline 5* wasn't he?

I have a feeling we will see the D improve every game. Should have a surge of confidence after last night. Started last week, that safety was more than just a 2 point celebration.

Amen. Lock him down w/ $$$$ until he’s sure to take a HC job. Personally, if BN doesn’t hire an OC and ST coaches at season end, I’d be ready to pull the trigger after next year. BN would have ZERO excuses next season if his O flounders with all that talent.

Agree, I think AA is better and I’m glad we got him, but the rosters they walked into are almost completely different. Getting rid of some of the ego’s mid season and letting young guys take their lumps last year is paying dividends this year too.

First, no way UF D talent last year was so bad to be at the bottom of almost every D category. No way. There is a reason why Tony is no longer the DC here, to think after one year he just decided to go pro ball on his own just imo isn't so. Be that as it may, we have a great DC now.
To hold UT O to 16 points, especially when our O went ultra conservative, (I don't even think we made a first down in the third quarter) and still limited their scoring is incredible. Each week this D is showing me a whole lot and they are still growing. Baring key injuries, I think we will be very very good by years end.

Loved the DBs playing tight coverage on third and 8, not 12 yards off and giving up first down conversions. We have stout linemen, speedy LBs and rangy DBs. Love the make up of the defense. The only negative I saw yesterday was too many guys trying to tackle around the upper body and getting dragged for first downs instead of taking the runner's legs out. But, we are also kind of lightweight at LB and DB, mainly because they are young and just need to grow into their bodies. But they make up for it with speed. The biggest thing is it is nice to know we have a defense we can rely on to carry their weight. At least so far it appears that way.

My biggest concern with coach Hambino is how long we get to have him as our DC before he gets a HC opportunity. I said in the OGT that perhaps a succession plan would be interesting.
