I’m strongly considering doing something like this. Maybe a generac and also potentially solar panels and Tesla battery wall. Between nutjobs with guns crazy weather patterns and a move away from fossil fuels, and TX being TX, my faith in the grid is diminishing.

I guess it depends on the timing of her posts. If it was early or before news of the outage was mainstream, that would actually be pretty substantial that she knew something.

If it’s after it was in news, it could be coincidental, but still suspicious.

Moral of the story…you can’t keep a good drag queen down. Those SOBs are tough as nails and would never allow a blackout to stop a good drag show.

I don't think anyone is saying they know for sure who is responsible, but I see nothing wrong with speculation on a message board. There is an obvious possibility that this was done by right-wing terrorists.

So let me get this straight.....Attacking a power station is somehow different from fire bombing and looting buildings?

    Nope, exactly the same.

Violence for political gain is exactly the definition of terrorism.

    Pinehurst, NC
Jumped over to THFSG to see if there was any mention of the outage. Sure enough.

I live in Pinehurst right in the middle of this shit. My wife thought I blew the power Saturday with a new air fryer when making food for the kids. Then we were like the neighbor just went full on Clark Griswold so maybe it was him. Something seemed ominous though. Had a feeling there was more.

We are in our third night in the dark and while the community is coming together, this totally sucks. Fire pit, grilling, and plenty of booze helps. Kids have lost their minds. End of the day, we have each other, our health, and still live in a kickass town. Oh did I mention booze :p

And Nazis in Lakeland protesting a drag show

A “Celebration of the Arts” at the ART/ifact venue on Massachusetts Avenue Saturday night was targeted by a dozen Neo-Nazis who gathered outside to harass attendees because some of the performers were drag queens – men dressed as women.

They were calling (attendees) pedophiles. They were screaming at them … screaming, ‘Heil Hitler!’ screaming, ‘You’re pedophiles, groomers.,” said event organizer Jason DeShazo, who performs under the stage name Momma Ashley Rose.

“They actually projected projections on the side of the building that said, ‘Warning – child grooming in progress’ and one said pedophiles should be taken care of. I don’t remember how — it said something about pedophilia and death. But I will say that all of our people that came in definitely were bothered. One of our children was crying because they were scared.”

I'm not saying we can't, I just personally rather not get into "The other party did this because that's just what they're like ..." when we have no idea who did it or why. We all seem to have enough reasons to dislike the other side with stuff that we know is real.

    Feb 2022:

Three men who plotted to attack electricity substations in a white supremacist bid to sow national unrest pleaded guilty to providing material support to terrorism, the Justice Department announced Wednesday.

Federal prosecutors in Ohio said the three planned to disrupt the electricity grid in order to sow civil unrest and economic uncertainty in furtherance of their white supremacist cohort. They hoped to cause unrest and trigger a race war, but the plot never really got past the planning stage, prosecutors said.

I wasn't the one who disagreed here, but I would add a qualifier to this. I think shooting up or bombing infrastructure or buildings is terrorism if there is a political or religious motive behind it. When there is theft/looting, there is likely a financial motive to have the stolen items for one's own use or for sale. Unfortunately, people loot after hurricanes, for example, because they can take advantage of the softer targets presented by limited law enforcement resources and the chaos of the situation. People do it during riots as well. They should be punished of course, but I don't think that meets the definition of terrorism as I understand it.
