They should do nothing, that will be far more effective

I recall this. These Iranian militias under the command of Suleman (who years later we assassinated) were brutal in their extermination of ISIS. We really didn’t want to be a part of it due to their tactics, but I think we effectively kind of fought in parallel with them.

The Middle East makes strange bedfellows. We have been on the same side of Iran and proxies against Saddam, ISIS, and Afghanistan Taliban. We are against them in terms of Yemen and Israel, and sometimes Syria. At times in Yemen we were supporting elements that were fighting alongside Al Queda against the Houthis.

Even if Ukraine had nothing to do with the concert attack, putin will take it out on Ukraine.
Last I checked, Ukraine was not an isis hotbed.

It would bring the same results. People who kill people don't care about laws. Only law abiding people do. All the laws do is make some people feel safer. They will do nothing for you when a person with a gun shoots at you. I feel safer knowing I have a chance to stop the perp and protect myself and my family.

Cost of doing business: dead kids in schools and mass shootings elsewhere. Thoughts and prayers are equally useless.

The enemy of my enemy is my friend. Can't say I'm too sympathetic to the Russians, they get what they deserve by letting Putin rule them and supporting Assad.

So how do you plan to stop all the sick and crazy people out there? Look at how they stopped people from getting drugs by making them illegal. That has not worked well. If you don't think people should have a gun, what are you going to do to protect your family when the someone breaks into your home one night?

That’s what I’m reading, yes. But unless Putin uses a nuke (which risks open war with NATO), what is Putin going to do in Ukraine that he has not already done? Despite what the Russophiles would have you believe, he is not sitting on this huge reserve of combat power that he hasn’t used yet because he’s, like, too nice. If Putin is fighting a limited war in Ukraine it’s because he’s living on a volcano of domestic dissent and is trying to keep it under control by limiting his own casualties (not going so well) and avoiding embarrassing defeats like he had in early 2022.

Isis sees Russia exactly as Isis sees us. Terror is horrible no matter where it happens.

Terror isn't bad if it effects your enemies. Chess, not checkers. China and Russia purposely voted at the UN against the ceasefire in Gaza just so Israel and the US would be tied up in the ME.

Or maybe they're just predisposed to oppose any proposal by the US. Unless I missed it I do not recall either Russia or China proposing relief to Palestinian resident of Gaza.

In First Remarks on Attack, Putin Tries to Link Assailants to Ukraine
American officials, who have assessed that a branch of the Islamic State was responsible, have voiced concern that the Russian leader could seek to falsely blame Ukraine.
