    Absolutely astounding when you really think about it. Humans have, for the first time, altered the trajectory and course of a celestial body.

    Too bad the dinosaurs didn't have sweet tech.

    Yeah that was amazing. Smart ass than I am, I was trying to think of the appropriate metaphor joke. But you’re right. We shouldn’t joke about this. That is amazing, and might as well save the planet

    I wonder what the NASA prediction as to what would happen was and how different is the outcome from their prediction?

    I don't have it in front of me exactly, but I read it was WAY more successful than they thought. Something like they expected a 5% trajectory shift and achieved 18%.

    In the movie version the new asteroid path collides with a planet killer and sends it hurling towards earth. Republicans run on “Don’t look up”.
