It's very hard to win when he has a small game.

I think partly because the coach sticks with him thinking he will shoot his way out of it and sometimes he doesn't and those are wasted minutes we could have given to Haugh or Kugel and maybe got more production. But, I love the kid's effort and it is ride or die with Will Richard for me. Hopefully he has a great tournament and we get to see the Gators into the second weekend, at least.

Kugel hasn’t been the same confident player as he was last season. Just a guess but it wouldn’t shock me if Aberdeen and Kugel enter the portal after the big dance. Maybe the feedback he got from testing the water last year rocked his world, but I expected him to be a star this season and he has taken a big step backward in his development. I think he is very talented but he seems to not be able to get out of his own way at times. Definitely doesn’t play with the swagger he had as a freshman. A new start somewhere else may not be what we as fans would want but it may be the best for Kugel.
As for Richard, he can’t create his own shot so the inconsistency is what it is. In games where teams are giving him open looks and he is hitting, he looks great but if he isn’t hitting, he really doesn’t give us much else. He’s not a lock down defender as he often gets beaten off the dribble by his man. Aberdeen would have more minutes as a result but his defense isn’t any better. So, Haugh should probably get more of Richard’s minutes when Richard is having a poor game simply because he may not be a great defender but he will give you better rebounding.

this article was almost prophetic....can't remember a game in which he played poorly that we won, and can't remember a game in which he played great we lost. Where he goes we go, so he better BRING IT this offseason and at least make some 3s
