I remember quite a lot of folks crying when Whittemore wasn't getting playing time and then transferred out to UCF. Turns out the kid just wasn't very good.
I’m glad to see Wright is doing well and landed somewhere he could make an impact. RB Nay’Quan Wright – USF Nay’Quan Wright is leading the Bulls’ backfield in 2023 with 90 carries for 404 yards and three rushing touchdowns. Wright is averaging a team high 4.5 yards per carry. Wright has added six receptions for 22 yards through the air. As USF’s starting running back in four games, Wright has posted an offensive grade of 74.1, the highest grade on the Bulls’ offense. Wright has also posted respectable pass and run block grades, landing in the top five of both categories.
Hopper is the only one I was not pleased. But it is what it is. Forward ho! I saw that this is merely those who left after last season. Hopper left before the season. Nonetheless, he WAS the transfer I thought was tough.
I guess going through that list and their subsequent accomplishments (or lack of them) I didn’t see that many who I’d categorize as a big loss
Just APR and XZavier. BTW, @ETGator can you get Nick to update/fix this? Dude plays for Mizzou, not Cincy. DB Tre’vez Johnson – Missouri Johnson has appeared in all seven games with the Missouri Tigers, totaling 18 tackles (12 solo) at the STAR and safety positions. Johnson has allowed 11 receptions for 134 yards on 13 targets, leading to a coverage grade of 52.6, the 8th highest in the Tigers’ secondary. Johnson has missed 7 tackles on the season, the second most on the Cincinatti defense. Johnon’s defensive grade of 55.2 ranks 22nd on the Bearcats’ defense.
WR Trent Whittemore – UCF Trent Whittemore has played 78 snaps across all six games with the Knights but has failed to record a catch in 2023. Whittemore found the majority of his snaps against Kent State and Villanova but dropped his lone target on the season in week one. Whittemore grades as the 36th best player on UCF’s offense.
Just a heads up (not that important): Carlos Del Rio Wilson, QB for Syracuse, had a game last night against Va Tech, who is not all that good. Anyways, he got into blowout games previously (like FSU) but he did not get into last night's game. They lost it 38-10 and their QB was sacked 8 times. The games he has been in he has been ineffective. He is clearly not a QB that was needed as Plan B. I don't like folks who are less-than-happy about what Napier has done to clean up the program. Yes, I wished Max Brown had more live action practice and run plenty of RPOs, but this is where we are this season. Mertz, DON"T GET HURT!!!
