Article: Three Takeaways From Florida’s Series Loss To Texas A&M

From the article:

“Hurston Waldrep has not been the same since the NCAA notified Florida of an issue with his delivery.”

What was this about? I guess I missed it.

 

I am SO tired of the "three takeaways" version of sports reporting. It seems like every sports article I see now has that format. Ring Lardner NEVER wrote a column like that. Did somebody have a seminar or a TED talk? Don't get me started about in high school every essay should have the same five paragraph format. ARGGH! If I was on a college acceptance board and I saw a five paragraph admissions essay I would immediately throw that applicant out.

As an aside John Sayles actually looked like Ring Lardner in his movie "Eight Men Out". Nice touch that most viewers probably missed. Great movie about baseball that is not uplifting like most of them are. Other non-uplifting movies about baseball that I like are "Fear Strikes Out" and "Bang the Drum Slowly". It isn't always hitting the grand slam in the bottom of the ninth.
