By: Nick Marcinko -- February 11, 2025 The Florida Gators cruised to a 81-68 victory over Mississippi State in Starkville on Tuesday night behind a dominant second half. Florida went on a 17-0 run over the first five minutes of the second half, forcing six turnovers that led to 11 of those points. The 17-0 run was the Gators’ second-largest of the season, trailing only the 27-0 run vs. Wichita State. Four different Gators hit a 3-pointer during the run (Aberdeen, Richard, Clayton, Haugh). The victory improved Florida to 21-3 (8-3 SEC) on the 2024/25 season and marked back-to-back road wins over top 25 teams for the first time in program history. Denzel Aberdeen matched a career high with 20 points, while Thomas Haugh flirted with a triple-double, finishing with 16 points, nine rebounds and a career-high eight assists. He added two steals and two blocked shots. Haugh is the first SEC player to post 15+ points, 8+ rebounds, 8+ assists and multiple blocks and steals since John Wall in 2010.
