We have at least 3 good/great backs... now which one of these talented running backs is going to resurrect the wheel route like Davis did for us against UGA back in 2020. We need a back that can catch, and has speed to burn. But, I also wouldn't mind if we find a receiver that can do that... Eugene Wilson or Aidan Mizell would be perfect for that route.
I’ve said before that Etienne lined up at receiver for the first few games last year. I have a feeling he catches just fine, but had no one to get in the ball.
He's plenty fast from the backfield, or lined up on the line as a receiver, to make the wheel route work.
Ahh . . . Etienne (or MJ) running the wheel route. If Mertz has the touch (which I think he does) I can't wait to see it.
