I like the 12 personnel success rate. Is that correct... 51.4 and 46.45? But the real indicator is not really the success rate, but the yards per pass and yards per run. That number for each is below all those teams shown for all those other teams except for Vanderbilt. But 4.6 yards per rush needs to get into the 5.5+ yards per run, and the pass plays needs to get into the 8+ yards. This year we should be much better than last year. We have the talent and the experienced depth to make that increase.
That 4.5 is based on logo fear by the prognosticators. And the people that think we'll trot out the same under-coached/under-prepared defense.
Based on reports in practice over the last 4-5 months, the defense has been fundamentally reworked. What I mean is with strength, tackling, new faces, another year under their belts, better coaching, and a focus on technique and fundamentals. We all know with some good wins the momentum shifts and that inertia will drive us forward. We have great kids, great coaches, and I can't wait to see them ball out! Go Gators.
