Florida transfer QB Graham Mertz comes equipped with 34 career games played, having started all but one of Wisconsin’s 33 games at quarterback, totaling over 2,000 snaps across the past three seasons from 20-22. The Badgers went 19-13 in Mertz’s 32 starts at Wisconsin (.594). Mertz completed 460 passes out of 773 career attempts (60.0%) for 5,405 yards and 38 touchdowns against 26 interceptions. I'll take experience in these away games versus young talent, in this game, every single time. Plus he knows how to read the defenses, and he knows which plays he can change to. I have to say that I feel good about our QB room for this game. We'll know more about them and how they progress as the year unfolds, but for now I like that our starer has tons of experience. You just can't simulate experience in practice.
