After months of waiting, Florida’s basketball season is officially here as the Gators tip off Monday against Stony Brook.

This will be fans’ first opportunity to see the new-look Gators under Todd Golden and it’s certain to be a special night.

Thanks to Mr. Fawcett for the story and to Mr. ETGator for the share.
Stony Brook's two 7-footers are cause for a bit of concern.

Remember when Patrick Baldwin Jr. was supposed to be cause for concern?

    He's 6'-9".
7-footers have a way of suddenly coming out of nowhere to become dominant, once they finally outgrow the awkwardness that comes with such height. Some never do, but I've seen lots of 7' supposed stiffs that ended up in the NBA.
I don't think that happens tomorrow, but it's something you gotta prepare for. 7-footers don't grow on trees. They ARE trees.

That is why you play teams like this, to get used to players you don't see regularly.
