The Florida Gators have their Round Of 64 opponent set.

In a first four game in Dayton that was close for forty minutes the Colorado Buffaloes were able to withstand the Boise State Broncos 60-53 earning a matchup with the Gators on Friday. Florida was able to watch comfortably from a conference room in their hotel in Indianapolis while Colorado battled a physical Boise State team in a game that didn’t end until after 11:45 PM local time, possibly giving the Gators an advantage from a rest standpoint.

This is an excellent, well-written article. I hope we contain the scoring stars of the teams we face in the tourney. One of our achilles heels in our losses is allowing an opponent’s player to “go off” on a scoring binge, whether it’s deserved or unconcious/lucky. You see this occurring in this tournament often and it can be lethal. I believe good use of substitutions for defensive purposes can offset this issue.

I watched the last 7 minutes of the game and both those teams looked mediocre. Fwiw.

I watched the first half and agree. Maybe the first 13 minutes of the 2nd half were magical?

I will say CU plays some good team D. It's over used, but that was a rock-fight type of game - not something we've done well with this year. CU has a monsterously sized, not overly tall big, and a tall athletic 6'9" wing that could both be matchup / foul creating issues for us.

Yep. I 'm counting on our guards for this game. Have to shoot well. Not lights out but you get the idea.

Common opponents to both Florida & Colorado:

    Florida State: UF-W (89-68), CU-L (71-77OT)
    Richmond: UF-W (87-76), CU-W (64-59)
    Grambling St: UF-W (96-57), CU-W (95-63)

    ==================================
In their play-in game, Grambling St came from a 14-point deficit and defeated Montana St, 88-81, for the Tigers' first NCAA Tournament win.

Grambling as the 16th seed will now face #1 seed Purdue. Incidentally in the 2023 NCAA Tournament, Purdue became the second #1 seed to lose to a 16 seed (58-63 to 16 Fairleigh Dickinson) since #1 seed Virginia lost to 16 UMBC in 2018.

Watch out for that upset possibility again.

It only took 60 points to win that game. I'm saying that we can/will hold them to 60, but we should be well north of 60, even with so-so shooting..

One guard we played in the SEC (Tex A M, Alabama, or Aubarn) literally carried the ball every time he dribbled; it was flagrant. I know they don’t call it anymore but maybe give a warning now and then.
The NBA is egregious with palming.

No games are called as they used to be. No more blocking calls. Lots of no calls on chest bumping, phantom calls etc.

Yeah, I agree. I watched the whole game and it was a defensive, scrum the whole game. If our offense can hold their own, I think will be OK.

We better take care of the ball and clean up those sloppy passes. Buffs were very active with quick hands and jumping passing lanes
