By: Nick Marcinko -- July 17, 2024 Freshman DJ Lagway has begun his first collegiate year as a Gator and is quickly receiving praise. The highly touted five star from Willis, Texas is looking to find an immediate role on the 2024 Gators team as fall camp quickly approaches. In his senior year of high school Lagway broke numerous records in the state of Texas, including the 6A single season passing record. He threw for 4,605 yards and 59 touchdowns as well as rushing for 953 yards and 16 touchdowns, earning him the 2023 Gatorade National Player of the Year. Well this is one player that we will eventually have far more reading material written about him for us to consume. I can't wait till we get to the personality and game experiences he's had in 2024. I wish I could interview him... Lol. Nah I'll leave that to the professionals. Hey, maybe Gator Country can get him on a live chat discussion much like we did way back when like we did with some of the sports people that passed through Gator Country, like Lara Rutledge.
