By: Nick Marcinko -- August 11, 2024 One receiver flying under the radar is Wisconsin transfer Chimere Dike. The 5th year senior combined for 1,478 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns across four seasons with the Badgers. Dike’s most productive collegiate season came in 2022, where the 6’0, 195-pound wide receiver totaled a career high 47 receptions for 689 yards and six touchdowns. Dike was catching passes from a familiar face that season, current Gators’ quarterback Graham Mertz. This sounds like Billy Napier and Billy Gonzalez are making the best of that room. I love the fact that we have speed, not just with one or two receivers like last year, but we have several players with speed in the receiving corps this year. I still think we start with Trey Wilson, Eilijhah Badger, and Kahleil Jackson as our first three receivers. I've been saying this since the beginning of summer... still think those three are who we start with, but you never know... that could change during the season. It's nice to have so many talented receivers that we could see a change in the lineup. It's been a while since I felt this good about our receiving corps. I can't wait to see them play.
Excited about the receivers. We are adding speed and experience, developing young guys and we know BG will have them blocking. Add better TE blocking and we'll be hitting more explosive plays with deeper routes and YAC.
