I read the article and this part is as close as I could find to Billy admitting the staff's culpability in whether we prevail or not.

As a staff, I know there are things we can do from a concepts standpoint that can help the players in all three parts of our team. It causes me to double down on kind of what we believe from an evaluation standpoint, recruitment standpoint, having continuity in system relative to the concepts that you run, scheme, adjustments. I do think there’s a development component to that, as well.”

I've been saying this since last season and still believe it to be true.

Our play calling is our biggest issue.

In fact - an argument could be made if we had better play calling - we'd be undefeated right now.

And if we lose our game tomorrow......it will be because of play calling.

At home against an inferior team - there can be no other explanation.

I just don't understand with the plethora of talent we put on the field.....why we can't get this fixed!

Lots and lots of 19 year olds out there with only 8 college games under their belt. I believe poor execution is sometimes making the play calling look bad.

If I'm calling the plays........and I call one that is beyond the capability of my players.......then who's fault is that?

I’m guessing there’s a little more to it than that. What exactly is ‘calling a play beyond the capability of my players’?

The only argument for us being undefeated right now would be driven by blind homerism.

Winning football is not one thing or the other. Hundreds of factors play a part on and off the field. Tomorrow, as in every game, we need to bring the heat.

I didn't want to watch 8 minutes of analysis of 1 play, but what I gather was that if # 22 makes the block on the guy crashing, the we can run to pick up the 1st down; therefore, it was a "good" call, bad execution. What's your point???

On your question, I wouldn't have based the success of a risky play like that (remember we are on our OWN 34 yard line in a crucial SEC East game that has HUGE implications) that requires so many moving parts to go a certain way with such a young team as we have.

It's been said countless times.....a good coach puts his team in the best position to execute and win.

I appreciate coach wanting to keep the drive going but why a "gadget" play instead of letting Mertz do what he does best or maybe even just punt it and play field position?

We can litigate this seven ways from Sunday and you're welcome to your opinion(s).....but my position will remain that was a poor play calling decision for a number of reasons.

I find the following quote for the this article disturbing.
"The preparation in practice has been inconsistent through eight weeks of the season. With only four games left to play, the Gators can’t have many more issues defensively with KJ Jefferson and Arkansas heading to the Swamp this weekend."

Question: What are the issues that cause the preparation in practice to be inconsistent?

Is it players with bad attitudes? Is players who are having problems in grasping what is going on? Are the coaches and the players on the same page? Is it having to prepare for a different team for every game?

The reason for my concern is that we are not just eight weeks into the season. When you count spring and preseason practice camps, you have 17 weeks of practice sessions. That is almost four months. Why is this team inconsistent in preparation as of today? I am not expecting the Gators to be playing at the level of UGA or Alabama. However, I am surprised at Napier's statement.
